Chris Calvert Chief Executive Officer

Chris has served as the CEO of Laconic Security since its founding in 2007. Chris has been leading innovative teams in the Information Security industry for over 23 years. His experience spans all levels of management within software, consulting and managed security services companies, including IBM and Cybertrust. Before joining commercial industry, Chris spent 13 years in the National Defense and Intelligence community working in Information Operations and Critical Infrastructure Protection. Chris' professional interests include entrepreneurship, business intelligence and security operations.

Fred Thiele Chief Operating Officer

Fred Thiele co-founded Laconic Security in 2007 after 10+ years working for Managed Security Services and Security Professional Services. As the Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for providing direction to the software development and security operations consulting division of Laconic Security.

Prior to Laconic Security, Fred was Principal Consultant for the Western region in Cybertrust's Professional Services, managing a multi-million dollar book of business. Fred has served in various capacities at IBM including leading teams of technical security personnel, architecting solutions for large Strategic Outsourcing clients and developing high-end business intelligence tools for analysis of large sets of security data.

Tom Wager Chief Financal Officer

Tom Wager is a co-founder of Laconic Security, LLC. Prior to Laconic Security, Tom spent 22 years with IBM as an Information Technology professional, including 7 years in Information Security and 8 years in IBM management. As a manager in IBM Global Services, Tom provided leadership and owned service delivery for: Network Intrusion Detection, Host Intrusion Detection, Security Operations, Incident Management, and Vulnerability Scanning & Management services. Tom developed the service delivery model for Network Intrusion Protection services and implemented technology to improve services delivery quality, decreasing costs up to 30%. Tom provided financial and budget ownership for a $27M managed security services delivery portfolio.

Clint Ruoho Chief Information Officer

Clint Ruoho is a co-founder of Laconic Security, LLC, with over eight years experience in Information Technology. Prior to his work at Laconic Security, Clint Ruoho spent seven years at IBM dealing in Information Security. Clint has focused primarily on performing penetration tests against both web applications and thick client-server applications. He has also been deployed on engagements for ISO 17799 Gap Assessments, forensics investigations, source code reviews, network penetration tests, along with web and application tests. Clint has also taught at Arizona State University and the University of Colorado. Prior to joining IBM, Clint worked at Lockheed-Martin Tactical Defense Systems in developing supercomputer-based digital signal processing applications.

James J. Treinen, Ph.D. Chief Technology Officer

Jim Treinen is Chief Technology Officer at Laconic Security. Dr. Treinen spent 10 years at IBM leading the development of numerous business intelligence and enterprise security solutions in the Global Services and Managed Security Services divisions. Prior to joining Laconic Security, Jim spent two years as a senior systems architect at IBM Corporate Headquarters. Jim holds B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Regis University, and an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Denver. Jim received his PhD through the Colorado Research Institute for Security and Privacy at the University of Denver. Jim is responsible for primary research and product development.

Ray Johnson V.P. Marketing & Sales

Ray has been in information technology for the past 26 years. Before joining Laconic Security as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Ray was at IBM where he spent 18 years in their services business. His last two roles were in strategic outsourcing Executive Management as the IBM Executive responsible for all aspects of contract delivery for two Fortune 500 clients. Before his account management roles, Ray spent six years leading and significantly growing IBM Global Service's security delivery organization. Prior to IBM, Ray was an Air Force officer in US Space Command for four years. Ray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado in Telecommunications.
