Aegis Detailed Features
Industry Grade Encryption Aegis uses 256-bit AES wrapped in 2048-bit RSA for which only you have the private key.
RFC 4880 Compliant Message Format We designed Aegis to use open standards that have been vetted by the encryption community. OpenPGP is a widely accepted message format that is used by many encryption products on the market today. By utilizing open standards, we can make Aegis as compatible with other products as possible.
Secure Key Generation Your public and private keys are generated on the Aegis Client, not on our servers. When generating the keys, you specify the password for your private key to be encrypted with. Your public key is then sent to the Laconic servers, but the encrypted private key remains with you.
Completely Integrated Client The Aegis desktop client was written with usability in mind. We wanted the client to be as lightweight and transparent to the user as possible. Aegis integrates so seamlessly into your desktop, most of the time you will forget it's installed. Aegis behaves just like a network share that you would have on your desktop. Drop files in and they're automatically encrypted and sent to the cloud with your public key. Data never leaves your workstation without being encrypted first!
Management Interface Administration of a PKI infrastructure couldn't be easier thanks to the simple Aegis Workgroup Manager. Administrators can easily set up new workgroups and manage keys for each workgroup allowing your organization to benefit from cloud economies of scale.
Cloud Storage Providers Currently only Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) is supported. Other cloud storage providers will be supported in future releases.
